About the movie

Jake Waylon dreams of leaving his meagre life behind. His most valuable possession is a flyer extolling an expensive trip to a south sea planet. One day, the company he works for holds a competition with that very trip as a prize. Jake immediately sees his chance to finally achieve his personal aim...

FINAL JOURNEY is a dramatic story about consequences of desperate acting. It combines an emotional message with strong lighting, atmospheric locations and a music score composed by brothers Andreas and Matthias Hornschuh.

This short movie was created during my graduation in summer 2006 at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz, supervised by Prof. Harald Pulch. In October 2007 several scenes were replaced with motion capture sequences and the movie was reedited. In the end the project finally finished in November 2007. 3dsmax8 (+ Afterburn3), After Effects 7.0 Pro (+ Frischluft Lenscare for DOF), Premiere Pro 2.0 and Photoshop CS2 were my favourite tools to complete the film.
